3 Ideas to Enhance Your Event Tent or Marquee

About Me
Event Marquee Hire

Hello! Welcome to my blog. My name is Cindy and last year my wonderful daughter Tina finally got married to the man of her dreams, Tony. Tony is an investment banker so they wanted to have a big wedding so they could show off to everyone how rich they were in both money and love. The only way to accommodate the large number of friends, family and other guest was to hire a marquee. We found a great event hire company who supplied everything we needed for my daughter's big day and the event was a massive success and I think everyone was really impressed.

3 Ideas to Enhance Your Event Tent or Marquee

Organising an outdoor wedding event can be stressful work, especially if it's your own. There's so much to consider and do, that many people feel overwhelmed by it all. However, with careful planning ahead of time, you can turn a simple garden party stress into the wedding of a lifetime. There's something charming about having a wedding under a huge outdoor marquee on a hot day so why not consider marquee hire for its ease of construction and practicality?

This guide will offer some practical advice on how to jazz up the tent and make it more of a feature of your event rather than just an overhead over.

Vines

Marquees are just huge tents, but those that are designed for events such as weddings can be huge, housing a good couple of hundred people with multiple spires. However, it is still a tent at the end of the day and sometimes the metal rods that hold everything in place can be unsightly and steal away from the old fashioned feel of the marquee.

To overcome this, you can always decorate the entrance legs or beams with vines and flowers. These can be tied on with tiger ties and will make the tent feel much more inviting. As vines and flowers are expensive you can cover the other legs with drapes of cloth to match the colour of the marquee material. This is often cream or white and therefore it won't be hard to colour match.

The Flooring

Marquees are designed to protect from above, but that doesn't mean that they keep the floor clean. When hiring a marquee, try to get some flooring included. For many event organising companies, this will come as an optional extra. However, be aware that people may trample in mud or grass. That's why it's a good idea to have a dedicated entrance or two and ask for a longer corridor extension. You can lay down a cheap red carpet which will also act to remove dirt and debris so that the inside remains clean and fresh.

Beam Up The Lights

For an added touch of class use cheap LED lights to line some of the beams. They're easy to attach with tiger ties once again and can be left of for hours with a battery, or indefinitely if plugged in. They won't heat up like some lamps and will dramatically reduce any fire hazards.
