Two Tips for First-Time Renters of Wedding Marquees

About Me
Event Marquee Hire

Hello! Welcome to my blog. My name is Cindy and last year my wonderful daughter Tina finally got married to the man of her dreams, Tony. Tony is an investment banker so they wanted to have a big wedding so they could show off to everyone how rich they were in both money and love. The only way to accommodate the large number of friends, family and other guest was to hire a marquee. We found a great event hire company who supplied everything we needed for my daughter's big day and the event was a massive success and I think everyone was really impressed.

Two Tips for First-Time Renters of Wedding Marquees

Are you or someone close to you getting married soon? Here are the tips you'll need to remember if you want to rent a wedding marquee.

1. Spend time evaluating the place where you want to put it

One of the big decisions you have to make when renting a marquee is deciding where to put it on the land where your wedding is going to be. Rather than just picking a spot because it's scenic or accessible, you should spend time evaluating the land before deciding which area would be best for the marquee. While you might think that placing the marquee beside some huge, beautiful trees would create a wonderful-looking wedding venue, you might notice that the shade will make this area cold and dark in the afternoon. This might make the wedding marquee feel gloomy and your guests feel cold, even if your wedding happens on a cloudless, warm day.

Likewise, after evaluating this area, you might notice that if you were to put the marquee near the entrance, the windows of the marquee would face directly onto some brick walls or a fence that surrounds the barrier, instead of a more scenic section of the land. As a result, you might decide to reposition the marquee so that it's 'door' is a little farther from the plot's entrance, but its windows look out onto a much prettier piece of the landscape. This will give your guests a more pleasant view when they're celebrating inside the marquee.

2. Keep the marquee's material in mind when picking out wedding decor

Most wedding marquees' walls are made of fabric; this is something you'll need to bear this in mind when picking up any decorative wedding garlands or other items for the one you've ordered. For example, if you order a canvas or vinyl marquee, you won't be able to use temporary picture hooks or nails to hang up garlands, as the marquee's walls will be too pliable for this. As such, if you want to use decor like this, you might need to check if you can wrap them around the interior marquee poles instead.

Additionally, if you want to use string lights, you should get battery-operated ones that don't become as hot as plug-in lights, as if you use the latter and display the lights in a way that puts them in direct contact with the marquee fabric, this material could get scorch marks or catch on fire.
